why does aegi decide to fail and shut down when i’m actually making progress on a sub that i’ve put off for quite some time and have forgotten to hit save?

but thats really not the point. i’m just frustrated right now.

Clash’s Respect

I really liked the song กราบดิน / Pay My Respects to the Earth by Clash. It’s beautifully written, beautifully executed. I never had to deal with losing my mother and living without my mother, and despite all the complaints and heartache I hope I never have to, but this song still moved me anyways.

I was waiting for the MV to come out so that I could sub it and it finally did. And I have to say I am highly disappointed. But then again I really shouldn’t be surprised because it is Duckbar of course. The king of kings when it comes to ruining perfectly good songs with less than good MVs.

Theres nothing wrong with this MV per say… it’s simple, it’s emotional, everything it should be and yet it’s not. I don’t know when I watched it I just felt that it was a bit contrived. Is that even the right word? I don’t know but thats the word that comes to mind. It’s Bank standing in front of a camera singing, or supposedly singing. To me it looks like he’s just weakly lipping along to a song, trying to force his tears. I don’t for any second doubt that he has real emotions tied to this song, but the way it came across to me was like it was more like an audition for some part rather than trying to convey a meaningful touching song.

Failed Attempts

so i decided to start on Lomhuan… an old lakorn im subbing and potentially will get paid for. yea i dont really know how i feel about it anymore. i could use the extra money and if im going to be sitting at my computer anyways then why not right? its not like im doing anything else of any relevance. but yea so i started and my heart is just not in it, or maybe the beginning of the lakorn is just boring because the two leads have yet to meet. im hoping it will pick up and i can just knock this thing out of the park and get paid. that would be nice.

im kind of at a loss at what else to sub in my free time though. im suppose to start on koogum but i dont think i can really handle doing 2 lakorns at once. yea i think that would drive me crazy and it doesnt help that all i want to do is listen to bodyslam. yea call me crazy. because i think i am.

Getting Back Into the Groove of Things…

i’ve been away and gone for various reasons, but now i’m back or at least going to try and stay back.

i mean it has to be pretty ok since i was able to translate and sub 4 songs in less than a day if you count just the hours i spent actually working on it. but i guess it helps that they were bird songs right? yea definitely a plus. They are 4 songs from the Bird Son Bird Sek concert held back in 2004… take a look and enjoy

on a side note since im not really doing reviews anymore, i havent really been staying up to date on new releases. but i randomly decided to check out bodyslam, a group that i disgust, just to see how bad it would be, but man… i actually like half of the album Kraam. Yea, you see i know how to admit when something is good even if i hate the group. im not completely biased. have a listen to it if your looking for something new ทางกลับบ้าน (this song makes me want to cry happy tears..) แสงสุดท้าย, เปราะบาง (currently on repeat) and sticker… i have to give the rest of a songs another try still… but i just really like these songs because they are so not bodyslam and by that i mean 1) they didn’t try to mix 10 billion different sounds and types of music into one damn song 2) Toon actually has a normal pitch to his voice and not one that is a million stories high up into the sky. still not a fan, but definitely impressed.

Long delayed update

if anyone’s reading this or has checked my youtube, you will have noticed 1 of 2 things… 1) absolutely no updates 2) some of my vids got deleted.

1) I just haven’t had the time nor the motivation to do anything in the past few weeks. It’s due to a number of things, whether its just how I feel personally, or with all these different things that have been happening personally with my family. I just haven’t wanted to spend that much time in front of the computer.

2) On my nonliteralthaifs page, all but one of my vids for Bangkok Traffic Love Story got deleted. Yea it sucks but its due to GMM and their copyright issue. Not much I can do about that, although I think they purposefully left the 1st part on there just to gain interest. Anyways if anyone wants to see it contact me and we’ll work something out.

As far as when I’ll start subbing again, maybe in June. I have 2 concerts I’ll be attending this month, one will be out of state. So hopefully once thats all done and over with I’ll be reenergized and in the mood to sub like crazy again.

Ice’s Kon Naah Song Saan

My first sub in a few weeks. I’ve been sick and I’ve had a lot of people coming in and out of my house so I just haven’t really been up to doing anything at all. I’ll be busy up till the beginning of June too… Lots of traveling and as I have a desktop that means no bring my compy with me to work on subs while I’m on the road. But thats probably a good thing I need a break from everything.

Testing out the calender

in an attempt to make me more responsible i was playing around with the google calender and trying to set up a schedule for my subbing so that hopefully I won’t slack as much… theres been stuff going on at home and such so haven’t been subbing at all the past few days. hopefully I can stick to this schedule.

almost finished with the timing just a few more lines left but its time to sleep for work maybe ill sub the alcohol song too if there is no karaoke. mee huajai dta mai yak ruk is totally killer because there is no pauses or breaks in the middle of the song.

A wish for a better Tomorrow… Together

I’ve had some ADD issues with my subbing. I keep jumping from one thing to another and who knows when I’ll finish my little projects. But I realized its been quite some time since I added anything to my Bird youtube.. so here you go today 3 new vids.

This has to be one of my favorite performances in terms of emotion and overall everything. I still can’t decide if I love this more than his Sunya Tong Pen Sunya performance during the Dream concert where there was 3 of him. I mean thats hard to beat right? Anyways yea…

I absolutely adore love everything about this. Even though it was a video taped performance for the concert, it was so full of emotion and raw and filled with sincerity and love. I wish civilizations would be bright enough and smart enough to realize things like this.

Call me old fashion or whatever, but this is how I like my music, up front and straightforward, emotional and meaningful. I don’t want to have to peel away the funky costumes and the fancy dance moves to get to the core of the music. Isn’t it more meaningful when you don’t have to hide behind all that fancy shamcy stuff to do something real? For entertainment value all of that is great, the glittery outfits and dance.. but in the end which is more timeless?
